Ralf Jahn, renowned expert for exclusive sharpness seminars holds his famous sharpening school in Solingen in the grinding shop Wipperkotten. He has been offering his workshop "sharpening knives" very successfully in the Solingen Boker manufactury since 2008. Inspired by the big grinding stones in the traditional grinding huts in Solingen, which were driven by the power of the Wupper river, Ralf Jahn developed this high-quality and especially innovative line of water whetstones. Fittingly, the new line was named "Wasserkraft" (Water Power) as it is connected to the tradition of honing blades manually on a stone using modern power and innovative materials.
The new whetstones consist of modern ceramics and are fired over 14 days in a kiln in an especially gentle firing process. This innovative and cost-intensive firing process make the stones especially sturdy. This makes the "Water Power" whetstones especially durable, much longer than traditional whetstones.
Another new development is the stone mount. Its innovative two-pan system prevents the grinding sludge from spreading all over the work space. The mount also keeps the stones from slipping. The pans are compatible with basically all other whetstones on the market, so that their benefits can also be used for any whetstones you may already have. The high-quality whetstones of the "Water Power" line are manufactured completely in Germany and come with innovative stone mount and whetstones.
