The Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker impresses above all with its simple handling, which requires no previous knowledge and yet delivers professional results. For a sharpening process with the practical Sharpmaker, a total of four runs with twenty passes on each side of the blade are performed. To do this, the blade is placed alternately at the upper end of the right and left-hand sharpening stone and the knife is then pulled down with light pressure. Pre-set angles of 12.5 degrees, 30 degrees and 40 degrees additionally simplify the handling. The synthetic stand and the safe hand guard guarantee problem-free and material-friendly sharpening. Scissors, axes, tools and serrated blades can also be easily restored to the necessary bite. Supplied with two pairs of triangular ceramic stones of different grain size, detailed instructions and DVD.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Wohl gut, wenn man den Winkel genau einhalten kann - mir wollte es nicht gelingen

Das Arbeitsprinzip des Spyderco Sharpmaker hatte mich angesprochen: einfach nur die Klinge immer schön senkrecht halten, und schon hält man den Schleifwinkel immer schön konstant und kann die Klingen super schleifen. Nur: mir wollte offensichtlich das Senkrechthalten der Klingen beim Schleifen auch mit viel Mühe partout nicht gelingen. Ich habe mir damit etliche Messerklingen ballig verrundet geschliffen. Die waren zwar auch einigermaßen scharf, aber eben ganz ungleichmäßig und ballig. Dann habe ich mir den Horl 2 Rollschleifer gekauft und mir mit viel Mühe alle Klingen tatsächlich wieder auf einen jeweils konstanten Winkel geschliffen, und damit gelang mir das einfach perfekt. Meine Empfehlung: Horl 2 Rollschleifer (ggf. plus die grobe Diamantscheibe). Braucht zum ersten Einschleifen einer Klinge auf den jeweiligen Winkel zwar sehr viel Geduld, aber wenn das erledigt ist, dann ist jedes Nachschleifen in ein paar Minuten erledigt.

Einfach und problemlos

Sehr einfache Handhabung dank der beiliegenden DVD. Trotz des relativ hohen Preises, bin ich der Meinung, dass sich die Investition auch für Anfänger lohnt.
