The Schuchbauer cutlery store was founded in Würzburg in 1759 and will celebrate its 260th anniversary in 2019. While the company first focused on forging knives, scissors and silverware, it changed over several decades into a specialized retailer for premium cutlery. Still located in the original building in Schustergasse, the company has been managed by Ansgar Latzel and his wife for more than two years now. Traditional elements of the steel goods retailer were combined with modern aspects of the business like online shopping. Starting in 2019, the online store will present the exclusive product range also available in the brick-and-mortar stone. Quality is the top priority at Schuchbauer, so the company offers mainly German and Japanese cutlery products. Premium kitchen and shaving tools round out the product range.

One key element is the highly qualified Schuchbauer sales team. All customers receive an individual expert consultation. Hence, Schuchbauer is not just a favorite among knife fans but also very popular with chefs and other professional users. While the classic furnishings at the store reflect the company's long history, the owners are passionate about making a connection between tradition and modern business.

This is the synthesis also reflected in the selection of the basic model for the CDC Schuchbauer. The Junior Scout Lightweight skillfully combines the classic design of our Boker Junior Scout with cutting-edge materials and production methods. The body of the knife is made from hard G10. The material offers the same stability and strength as nickel silver while reducing the weight by half, which makes for significantly better wearability. The scales are made from dark stabilized local curly birch. With its typical pattern and specific hue, curly birch creates a very elegant look.

The classic fine-ground blade consists of Böhler N690, a great mix of edge retention and strength. The knife is secured with a backlock. We recommend the CDC Schuchbauer for all fans of classic pocketknives who are open to innovative materials and construction ideas, while honoring traditional values. Limited edition of 100 pieces, individual serial numbers.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.
