Following this idea, the young Swiss custom knifemaker Ivan Dietsche from Altstätten in the canton of St. Gallen realised his dream with Identity Knives at the beginning of 2022 and creates exceptional knives with unique character.
It is well known that precision, discretion, independence and the necessary composure have always been the defining characteristics of the Swiss. Watches, banks, international sports associations or the famous Swiss pocket knives, the Helvetic Alpine republic is undoubtedly a global player. Ivan Dietsche does not yet think quite so big, however, as his knives are mostly tailor-made works of art for discerning customers. He received his first pocket knife at the age of 7, an Opinel, which he still guards in his collection today. "I discovered my passion for knives at a young age, as I had the opportunity to make knives myself with simple machines in a small workshop." In addition to handmade customer knives, Identity Knives also offers a re-sharpening service and knife courses. In parallel, his online shop is growing continuously.
Boker has accompanied the aspiring knifemaker from the very beginning and is an important pillar for his stationary - as well as online - business. "I appreciate very much that I have risen in the short time with the Bokercompany and now also have my personal advisor/ sales representative, with whom I get along brilliantly." When it comes to his favourite Boker knife, the Sherman EDC, there are no two opinions for the custom knifemaker: "For me, the size and weight are perfect for an EDC. I am a big fan of modern blade materials. And the new MagnaCut blade steel is a super step in modern knife technology. It represents exactly what most knife fans want. The small details, such as the backspacer made of hand-forged damascus by Chad Nicols from armour steel, or the blade axle bolts, which interpret the wheel hub of the Sherman, are simply very successful. An interesting story behind the knife, high-quality materials, pleasant size make the Boker Sherman EDC an all-round successful knife." A doer through and through, which the owner also likes to carry with him for effective presentation to the customer. "After all, quickly pulled out of the pocket, the knife looks even more impressive than in the showcase."
