Steam Machine Damascus

150 years of knives from Boker! This is definitely a very good reason to celebrate. And of course we want all our customers and fans to share in this memorable anniversary. Therefore, we present here a very extraordinary series with unique models.

The Damascus blades of these exclusive knives are literally a piece of living history from the Boker manufactory. In the "old days", before electricity became the standard, steam power was the main source of energy for the numerous machines used in manufacturing. This centrally generated steam power was transmitted across the entire manufactory to the individual machines via large flywheels and transmission belts, thus driving the various machines. One of these huge transmission wheels still stands today as a memento on our company premises, keeping alive the memory of the early days of our company and the changes we have undergone over the last century and a half. We have taken a solid piece from the shaft of this transmission wheel and use it to forge the 180-ply damascus steel in the Raindrop pattern, crafted by Chad Nichols for this exclusive anniversary edition.

This way, every owner of a knife from this series holds a genuine and authentic piece of Boker history in their hands. This unique way to create this rare blade material and the efforts involved, we would like to be understood as a sign of our appreciation to our customers, who have supported us with their loyalty and faithfulness and their pleasure in our products over 15 decades. Each of these knives is equipped with a scales whose historical significance is hardly inferior to the blade: the Boker tree logo famously goes back to a huge chestnut tree that stood on our first company site. And although that chestnut was felled by a thunderstorm in the early 20th century, the smoked chestnut wood of the handle scales inimitably reflects the memory of the world-famous logo's origins in each and every one of this series. A custom anniversary emblem embedded in the scales adds a noble accent. Each of these knives is handmade in our manufactory in Solingen and strictly limited to 150 pieces worldwide. They are delivered with an individual serial number in an anniversary frame display and with a certificate of authenticity.
