In the Lapp dialect of Meijän Kieli, "hieno" simply means beautiful! Even at first glance, you see that this fixed blade knife is a credit to its name and that Karesuando has reached a whole new level of craftsmanship and finish. The pleasant handle of wood, brass and reindeer horn is assembled seamlessly and perfectly polished, also featuring a brass emblem on the butt. The blade is made from reliable Sandvik 12C27 with a traditional Scandi grind and has the perfect length for all outdoor and bushcraft tasks. One special feature is the slim fitted sheath, cut from a single piece of leather and created with a genius weave that doesn't require a keder, seam or additional leather cord. The walnut handle adds a warm color and calm texture.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Karesuando

Karesuando is a town in Lapland in the far north of Sweden. Located directly on the banks of the river Kaaresuvanto, which marks the border with Finland. In Karesuando, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle in the land of the elks, the reindeer, the midnight sun and the polar light, nordic knives are handmade according to old tradition. Karesuando has been a manufacturer since 1975 and since then has produced over one million blades. Only natural, traditional materials are used, such as oiled grains and reindeer horn as handle material, as well as selected cowhide for the sheaths.
