Windmühlenmesser
Windmuhlenmesser was founded in 1872 by Robert Herder in the blade city of Solingen. Now in the 5th generation of family management, the manufacturer remains true to its credo: "Good knives are made by hand." By cultivating traditional knife craftsmanship and using regional raw materials, the company demonstrates its commitment to the Bergisches Land region. The idea for the eponymous windmill came from a trip by Paul Herder, son of the founder, through the Benelux countries, when he recognized parallels to the characteristic water mills of the classic knife grinderies. The product portfolio includes chef's knives, pocketknives, cutting boards and whetstones.
