As a slimline tactical knife, the Boker Plus KAL-18 shows several style elements taken from the classic assault rifle, clearly showing its roots. The 440C blade on ball bearings opens with a flipper or thumbstud. The handle has a removable clip (tip-down/r) and a lanyard hole. Aluminum handle with stainless liners and linerlock. Comes with a nylon belt holster.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Not sharp enough

It's not a bad knife, but only if there was a big retail and you got it for 20-25€.
I like the weight of the knife, the flipper is smooth, I like the size of the handle and the shape of the blade.
The lock could be a bit harder though, especially for a so called "tactical knife". But I don't think I'll ever cut something sturdier than cardboard with it, because food is a no go : thumbstuds are a pain in the ass on nearly every folding knife when it comes to cutting food, and so is it on the KAL-18. I also fear that these thumbstuds prevent a correct sharpening of the base of the blade, too, and that is way more important...
But the worst thing for me just now after unboxing is clearly the lack of sharpness. And with no sharpening angle info anywhere...
