The legendary king of Sparta gained his fame and glory in the battle of Thermopylae against the Persians. The life of the Spartans was characterized by an iron discipline, deprivations and above all by the learning of the art of fighting. As a result it is logical that the typical sword of the Spartans was an imposing and dangerous weapon. The wide duckbill-shaped blade of 1045 carbon steel shows (contrary to the description in the catalogue) a satin finish, has a wide angeschliffene Phase and is sharp grounded. The massive handguard is shaped like an open Bügel and prevents the slipping on the blade or the loss of the sword during the fight. Includes an elaborately designed sheath of brown synthetical leather.
