With the Mettämies Bushcraft Axe, Karesuando offers a modified version of the hugely popular Unna Aksu, which has been specially optimized for bushcrafters. The handle is made of red beech wood, which has a very high strength and also tolerates shock even better during chopping. The handle is hewn by hand and offers a secure grip. In addition, it is protected by bound reindeer leather. The black lacquered axe head, made of high-quality 5Cr15MoV and hardened to 56 HRC, has a modified grind, which is also primarily designed for chopping. The black leather sheath protects the stainless axe head during transport. The handle butt made of elk bone skilfully rounds off the robust bushcraft axe.

The set consists of the Mettämies Axe, a high-quality combination holster made of black leather, a handy sharpener and a fire starter.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Karesuando

Karesuando is a town in Lapland in the far north of Sweden. Located directly on the banks of the river Kaaresuvanto, which marks the border with Finland. In Karesuando, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle in the land of the elks, the reindeer, the midnight sun and the polar light, nordic knives are handmade according to old tradition. Karesuando has been a manufacturer since 1975 and since then has produced over one million blades. Only natural, traditional materials are used, such as oiled grains and reindeer horn as handle material, as well as selected cowhide for the sheaths.
