The Boker Scout has been firmly connected to our name since 1985. No one can say today if anyone would have expected that the Pocketknife would be one of the most successful and popular Knifes from our range. But these many years in short-lived fads, that are also not unusual on the knife market, is definitely special.

While no other model has had as many versions as the Scout over the years, the basic specifications never changed. The extremely stable body is from a single piece nickel silver which is produced by sintering. The hollow ground blade made of Cronidur 30 and contributes with its memorable shape to the incomparable appearance of the Scout. Cronidur 30 is the latest of the premium steels coming out of the space shuttle program and Boker ist the first to have it available to the sporting knives industry. It was developed for use in the aircraft and aerospace applications, where component durability, reliability and long life are a must. Large carbides evident in other high grade steels do not exist in Cronidur 30. Instead, there is a homogenous structure of finely dispersed carbon nitrides. With a Rockwell hardness of 58 and the blade composition needed, these blades will sharpen and hold an edge unlike any other steel currently available.

A classic Backlock keeps the blade safely open. When the knife is opened, the spine locks into a notch on the back of the blade. To close the knife, push down the exposed part of the spine. The harmonic overall impression of this classic is completed by pleasantly shaped handle scales made of elegant certified imported Grenadill Wood.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

MONOLITH

Diese wunderbare Schönheit ist nicht nur ein weiteres Messer in Eurer Sammlung.
Sie ist viel mehr als das.
Diese Schönheit ist nicht einfach nur die Summe ihrer Teile, zusammengesetzt aus Klinge, Achse, Platinen, Backen, Griffschalen, Lagern, Nieten und Federn. - Nein sie ist monolitisch. Leute, diese Schönheit ist kein auch nur irgendwie im entferntesten klapperndes Industrie-Massenprodukt.
Vielmehr ist sie im allerfeinsten Sinne des Wortes: A. U. S. D. E. M. V. O. L. L. E. N. G. E. F. R. Ä. S. S. T.
Man muß sehen: Andere Messer fassen ihre Klinge zwischen zwei (gern mal dünnen) Platinen, auf denen z. B. die Backen nur aufgelötet werden - die dann ihrerseits die Griffschälchen zwischen sich einklemmen.
Freunde der Qualität: Klingt da nicht förmlich die " Klapprigkeit" durch?
Hier ist alles völlig anders aufgezogen: Platinen und Backen sind ein einziges Teil und die Materialstärken sind "erhaben". Die Griffschalen der Schönheit sind derart sauber eingepasst, und ebenfalls von ordentlicher Dicke, so das man immer und immer wieder sich dabei ertappt - wie man mit den Fingerspitzen darüber fährt um eventuell doch einen Übergang, eine Fuge zu ertasten. - Allein es ist nicht möglich. Die einzig sinnlich zu erfahrende Grenze zwischen Backen und Schalen besteht darin, das man einen Temperatur-Unterschied zwischen Neusilberbacken und Grenadillholz ertasten kann.
Sowas kommt eben von sowas, wenn man ein Produkt unverändert schon seit 35 ! Jahren fertigt.
Tief verneige ich mich vor den Altvorderen (der Entwurf), die noch nicht die Denke hatten: Wie kann ich noch billiger Qualität vortäuschen, ohne das der Verbraucher es sofort bemerkt.
Vielleicht ist die Schönheit etwas zu klein.
Andererseits, wie schwer sollen diese Messer dann (ob der Materialqualitäten) wohl noch werden.
Der Klingenstahl, da kann ich jetzt noch nichts darüber sagen. Nur soviel: Wenn die NASA mit diesem Stahl zufrieden ist, wenn sie ihm ihre Astronauten-Leben anvertrauen (man bedenke die extreme Form der Belastung), dann soll es mir wohl recht sein.
Danke an die Solinger Facharbeiter (DEUTSCHLAND) die meine Schönheit vom Stapel laufen ließen.
