The FKMD Sputnik series primarily shines with its particularly high utility and extremely secure handling. The rubber-like forpene handle gives the Sputnik models comfortable and secure handling even in wet and cold conditions, with the large number of grooves and riffles doing their part The small integrated parrying element and the glass breaker on the pommel both have an eyelet, therefore allowing the Sputnik to be tied e.g. to a stick. The N690 blade has a cerakote coating and with a thickness of 5mm is ideally dimensioned to combine cutting potential and strength. The exceedingly functional symmetric sheath is made from fiberglass composites and is seated in a MOLLE compatible nylon adapter with belt loop and removable leg straps.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.
