Drawing inspiration from the traditional knives of the Chokwe people of Southern Africa, the Spyderco Watu is a smaller and handier version of the original Spyderco Chokwe and continues its success and tradition. Its distinctive triangular blade has a full flat grind and is made from powder-metallurgical CPM-20CV steel. The slim handle has lightweight carbon fiber/G10 laminate scales. Skeletonized stainless steel liners and cutouts in the handle scales further reduce the weight. With reversible deep-carry clip (tip-up/l-r). Spyderco donates a portion of the receipts from each Watu sold to “KCA - Keep a Child Alive’, an organization that supports HIV-afflicted children and families in Africa.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Spyderco

In 1981 Sal Glesser and his wife Gail revolutionized the knife industry. In the small town of Golden, not far from Colorado's capital Denver, they founded the now world-famous knife brand Spyderco. Today, Spyderco is still a true pioneer, constantly developing and testing new materials and mechanisms. Over the years, Spyderco has been able to make a name for itself worldwide as an innovative manufacturer of high-quality pocket knives and fixed knives and is now a supplier to numerous police and military forces around the world. For the precise production of the knives, modern high-quality materials are used. Low manufacturing tolerances and high demands on their own work thus inevitably lead to absolutely reliable and practical knives that will not be compromised even under tough conditions.
