Today, the Demmer family business can justifiably be regarded as a true institution of trade in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. It can look back on a long tradition. The company founder Hans Demmer Senior opened his first retail store in Mainz in 1928, from where he moved to Ludwigshafen in 1947. Opposite the Pfalzbau theatre, the head office still stands here today with an additional 150 square metres of sales area.
Since then, Demmer has set the highest standards in selection and expertise for knives, free weapons and all outdoor accessories. The owners in the second generation, Doris and Hans-Jürgen Demmer, decided to increasingly offer traditional costume fashion as early as 1981. This range, which is still managed with great dedication, is now called "Alpen Fashion" and is increasingly in demand among younger generations. This shows that it is rewarded if you remain true to your own style over a longer period of time.
In addition to the head office, Demmer offers its products in five other stores in Mannheim, Heidelberg, Speyer, Landau and in the shopping street in Ludwigshafen. All of the stores demonstrate a consistent commitment to uncompromising quality and customer focus, while at the same time fitting in individually in the various historic towns and cities.
Frederik Demmer, the third generation of the family to select and manage the enormous product range, says about Boker Knife Manufactory:
