The Boker Plus Kaizen takes up the deeply rooted approaches of Far Eastern philosophy and transfers their basic ideas from the spiritual to the material level. The Japanese term Kaizen consists of the syllables Kai (change, transformation) and Zen (for the better) and describes the continuous striving for improvement. Perfection becomes a temporary phenomenon and is only an intermediate goal in the constant process of change. As an elegant gentleman's knife, the Boker Plus Kaizen meets the spirit of the times and convinces with clever detailed solutions.

Modesty as a sign of true greatness is perfectly embodied by the minimalist flipper, which almost merges optically with the slim knife and yet is highly functional due to its serrations. The ball bearing blade made of satin-finished D2 works its way through everyday cutting tasks with stoic calm and always finds its way back to its core thanks to the reliable linerlock. The decorative pivot screw is the visual starting point of the Gentleman Folder as a symbol of change in form and function and ends in the straight lanyard hole at the end of the handle. The textured handle made of non-slip G10 fits comfortably in the hand and is fitted with a practical clip (tip-up/r). With high-quality nylon case for storage.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Ein wunderschönes, hochwertig wirkendes Gentleman Messer, welches dem CRKT CEO in nichts nach steht... im Gegenteil!

... Im Gegenteil! Ich bin mit dem KAIZEN bei weitem zufriedener!
Für die Dünne und Leichtigkeit fühlt es sich unheimlich robust an.
Durch das Design passt das Messer zu verschiedenen Anlässen und Styles.
Ob zum Hemd und Anzug oder doch eher zur Rocker Jacke.
In den G10 Griffschalen findet sich ein japanisch anmutendes "Fishscale" Muster wieder, welches alles noch einmal optisch aufwertet und zum Namen passt.
Das einzig "negative", was auch schon von Anderen hier negativ angesprochen wurde ist die Flipper Funktion: Diese ist in der Tat anfänglich sehr schwer zu öffnen. Ich dachte sogar, dass ich ein defektes Messer bekommen habe.
Letztlich übte ich aber bis mir der Finger schmerzte und siehe da: Durch die Übung und vor Allem die richtige Technik findet man irgendwann den "sweetspot" und dann geht es auf Einmal super leicht.
Ich empfehle also das Kaizen, welches wie gesagt eine super Alternative zum CEO ist, welches in seiner ersten Version mit dem Daumenpin als Öffnungshilfe genauso Probleme bereitete.
Ich gebe daher trotzdem nur 9 von 10 Punkten.
Dennoch - Kauft es euch - ihr werdet es nicht bereuen.

Die reinste Ästhetik

Ich bin begeistert von der filigranen Schlichtheit. Dabei wirkt es stabil und ist großartig verarbeitet. Es mit einer Hand zu öffnen ist mir leicht möglich. Das Messer ist eine Offenbarung.

Schönes Messer mit zu flachem Flipper

Das Messer ist wirklich schön, elegant, minimalistisch und qualitativ hochwertig. So wie man es von Böker erwartet. Leider habe ich persönlich das Problem, dass ich es nicht mit dem Flipper öffnen kann. Vielleicht liegt es an mir, vielleicht habe ich zu weiche Finger oder was auch immer, aber es geht nicht auf. Der Flipper ist extrem flach eingearbeitet (was ja schön aussieht) und die Riffelung bietet praktisch keinen Widerstand, so dass mein Finger einfach immer nur drüberrutscht, ohne das Messer zu öffnen. Für den Alltag ist es so leider untauglich. Das Messer selbst ist dennoch wirklich toll, nur für mich ist es offenbar nicht geeignet.
