Since 31st October 2024, there has been a general ban on the handling and possession of switchblade knives of all kinds in Germany. They are now prohibited objects and the possession thereof is a criminal offence. The possession of certain switchblade knives is prohibited in accordance with Annex 2 to the German Weapons law, Section 1, Number 1.4.1, and only permitted to persons who have a legitimate interest necessitating one-handed use (such as due to the loss of an arm or a missing or dysfunctional hand), or use them in connection with professional activities (e.g. hunting, crafts) or sports (e.g. sailing or mountaineering). The same applies to commercial dealers or manufacturers of such knives. Consequently,the sale is limited only to authorized individuals. Though knives are our daily bread, every once in a while there are still things we feel passionate about. When that is the case, all usual necessary restrictions of serial production - something custom knifemakers don't have to consider - are ignored so that we can realize collectors' items that are true gems among the collectible knives in our product range. Even the standard version of the Tucan, designed by Solingen-based knifemaker Wilfried Gorski, is a truly exceptional knife that put our manufactory to the test with its serial production.

The Boker Special Run Tucan Eclipse takes this exclusive piece to the next level. The titanium handle features inlays of hand-forged Damascus, meticulously fitted into the handle pockets. The blade shaft screw has a bronze color with a center also decorated with Damascus matching the handle scales. In order to get the unusual bronze hue, the Damascus steel must undergo a special process. The color creates a breathtaking contrast to the dark charcoal handle.

The crowning glory of the Tucan Eclipse is the blade made from 154CM, a steel that offers great edge retention. The blade receives an elaborate two-tone finish. The PVD coating on the handle and blade is so fine that you can still see every stroke of the vertically satinized blade face. Ultimately, the irresistible appeal of the Tucan is created by the finished work of art - elegant, archaic and enigmatic.

The spring-supported titanium slider opens the blade a little bit so that it can be fully opened by hand. It also releases the lock. The Tucan Eclipse Special Run is a worldwide limited edition of 199 pieces, delivered in our special frame case for a 'floating' presentation. Each piece has a unique serial number. Comes with a certificate.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.
