The Kizer Takahe is a high-quality and rugged folding knife that stands out through its clean design, premium materials, and reliable performance for both everyday and outdoor use. Designed by Ben Taubert, this model is aimed at users seeking a high-performance premium EDC (everyday carry) knife with a strong focus on stability, ergonomics, and precise cutting ability.
The blade is made from S35VN steel, offering an excellent balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance, ensuring reliable performance even under heavy use. With a hardness of 60–62 HRC, it delivers a durable, stable, and consistently sharp cutting edge. The sheepsfoot blade shape provides controlled, safe cutting with a reduced risk of accidental piercing, while the flat grind ensures efficient and consistent cutting performance. The stonewashed finish gives the blade a rugged, low-maintenance surface with a technical aesthetic.
The handle, made from titanium, provides exceptional strength while maintaining practical usability, paired with a premium, modern, and long-lasting material feel. The gray colorway reinforces a functional, minimalist, and high-end aesthetic.
A thumb hole opener enables secure and controlled one-handed deployment, while the frame lock mechanism ensures strong and reliable blade locking. The 3D-machined non-reversible pocket clip offers a secure and fixed carry solution for everyday use.
The Kizer Takahe is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a sturdy, premium-grade folding knife with modern titanium construction and refined usability.
Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.
