Two streamers in the wilderness. Knives instead of controllers. Survival instead of delivery pizza. What sounds improbable became reality when Trymacs (Hamburg) and Rumathra (Bonn) teamed up for Season 3 of 7 vs. Wild, facing a 14-day survival challenge in the Canadian wilderness. Together, the two leading figures of the German streaming and gaming scene reach more than four million followers across Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram. As part of their intensive preparation for this extreme experience—where all personal equipment had to fit inside a single 1-liter Nalgene bottle—choosing the right gear was critical. In close collaboration with Rumathra, who visited the Boker workshop in Solingen several times, a knife was developed that meets the exact demands of this extraordinary adventure. The foundation for this special model is the Boker Plus Vigtig, originally designed by Dave Wenger. With its compact dimensions (overall length: 7.68 in; blade thickness: 4 mm), the knife fits perfectly into the bottle while remaining capable of the toughest outdoor tasks. The blade steel selected was CPM MagnaCut, a modern high-performance steel developed specifically for knife making. Often described as a “miracle steel,” MagnaCut combines a fine microstructure with exceptional toughness and impact resistance, despite its high chromium content of 10.7% and a hardness exceeding 62 HRC ±1. Paired with a True Scandi grind and a durable stonewashed finish, the blade excels in every challenge—from precise cutting and carving for shelter construction and firewood preparation to batoning, chopping, and game processing. To maximize usable space inside the Nalgene bottle, the green canvas Micarta handle scales were designed slightly flatter than those of the standard version, while still offering a secure grip—even in wet conditions. A particularly clever feature is hidden within the handle itself: instead of hollow pins, two large screws can be removed using a coin, revealing a 14 mm deep internal storage compartment. This space can accommodate essentials such as tweezers, tinder, charcoal tablets, a compact fishing kit, or safety pins. Even without handle scales, as a skeletonized knife, the Boker Vigtig vs. Wild—entirely handcrafted in Solingen—cuts an impressive figure and highlights the versatility of this special edition. The package is completed by a compact black Kydex sheath with a practical clip for secure carry.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Top- Bushcraftmesser aus Solingen!

Erstmalig hatte ich es in einem kleinen Geschäft an der Ostsee gesehen und war von erster Sekunde an fasziniert! Den eher nervigen Hintergrund mit 7vs wild wusste ich nicht, aber das komplette Messer überzeugte sofort! Die Klinge ist von idealer Länge, der Schneidenverlauf ermöglicht auch feine Arbeiten und daher lässt sich das Messer gut kontrollieren. Der Anschliffwinkel ist gut gewählt und die 4mm geben Sicherheit, ohne zu massiv zu sein. Der Magnacut hat sich bisher bewährt, obwohl ich sonst Freund von niedrig legierten Carbonstählen bin. Der Griffliegt in allen Greifarten top in meiner Hand(Handschuhgröße 9) und im Gesamtkonzept verschmilzt es sicher mit der Hand. So Stelle ich mir ein Bushcraftmesser vor! Feathersticks gehen wie von selbst, feines Schnitzen macht Freude und Holzverbindungen ebenso spielend leicht. Liebevolle Details wie nur teilweise scharfer Messerrücken, Kanten mit Fase(keine Hotspots) und massive Schrauben ergeben ein durchdachtes Messer. Die Scheide sitzt richtig perfekt ohne Spiel und das Messer rastet definiert ein. Was mir fehlt wäre ein Dangler, um es tief am Gürtel tragen zu können. Fazit: ein solch durchdachtes und hochwertiges Bushcraftmesser aus Solingen bereitet richtig Freude!
