The newly interpreted Boker Barlow Prime is equipped with shorter nickel silver bolsters and convinces in this version with scales of resistant burlap micarta, brass liners and the carbon steel O1 as blade material. To emphasise the authenticity of the knife, the blade is protected from harmful environmental influences with a special acid-wash finish. It is equipped with a modern, elongated ricasso, the operating safety of the slipjoint pocket knife is increased by a 90 degree arrestor when opening and closing the blade. The characteristic teardrop shape of the Barlow can be traced back to the English pocket knives of the 17th century, making it certainly one of the oldest models ever. Handmade in the Boker knife manufactory Solingen.

Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Disappointed

Purchased through Heinnie Haynes in the UK (Jute model). There are nicks on the inside edge of the liners at the bolster end. The blade was not sharpened and the grind was uneven. The area around the inserted tree motif is a bit ragged. I can see that this Knife has very good pedigree and I do like it but I am disappointed with it's finish, especially considering that it cost over £100. This is my first Boker knife (I have many others from different makers) but I probably wouldn't buy another Boker knife unless I could inspect it before buying.
